Coming from a family of 5 with an income of Rs. 500 (less than $12 a month) Tapasi being the eldest child brings groceries, coal and rations. She stands 3rd in the class. Tapasi at her younger days was inspired by Florence Nightingale's 'Lady with the Lamp'. She wants to choose the nursing profession in order to dedicate in service. Her hobbies are playing Kabadi and sewing, although she is an avid reader of the lives of great people in spare time.
