Coming from a small farmer family of six where there is rarely any income, Shyamal now lives in a home for destitutes (Prabartak Destitute Home). He stood 3rd in his class of 212 students. He helps his father in farming (when there is work). Shyamal's hobbies are gardening, playing football and cricket. He wants to be a computer engineer.
