Santrajit, coming from a family of 3 with an income of Rs. 1000 (less than $25 a month), where father is a small farmer, won star-marks in the Madhyamik Exam. Besides academics, he involves himself in many socio-cultural activities, such as, tree-plantaion programme in the block and social service for flood-victims . He participated and won prizes in debate, instant speech and English recitation. Santrajit contributes to family by earning through private tuition. His hobbies are reading novels and listening to music. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up.
