Payel comes from a family of 3 with an income of Rs. 700 (less than $18 a month), where father is deceased and mother earns as a maid. The family practically lives hand-to-mouth. Payel has to look after the little sister in absence of her mother. In spite of the handicaps, Payel scored 78% in the last annual exam. She loves reading books, and wants to be a good teacher in life.
