Jayanta comes from a family of 6 with an income of Rs.1200 (less than $30 a month), where his father earns from a small grocery store. Traditionally he has been the first boy in class from Grade I, so no wonder he scored 82% in the Madhyamik Exam. His outside-school activities are equally impressive. He stood first in the Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Divas essay competition. Jayanta's hobbies are reading story books and cricket-playing. He wants to be an engineer in life.
