Coming from a small farmer family of four with monthly income of Rs. 1000/- (less than $22) a month, Atanu stands first in his class of 212 students. Besides participating in cultural functions, he plants tress and fights superstitions. He helps his mother in her activities and looks after the younger sister. Atanu's hobby is gardening. He wants to be a doctor.
