Amit comes from a family of 3 with an income of Rs. 900 (less than $23 a month), where the father is deceased and the mother is the only bread-earner through her small tailoring skill. The boy is first-aid trained and N.C.C. certified. He helps mother by tutoring himself earning some Rs. 50/- a month. His hobbies are gardening and playing cricket. Amit wants to go into the teaching profession when he grows up.
