Remote Access School Transport Assistance (RASTA)

General

 

Some Study Homes/ Coaching Homes may be located at places far from teachers’ residences. In such cases the teachers have to travel a long distance to access the school facilities everyday. In order to ease the burden, a predetermined lump sum amount (RASTA) will be paid to such teachers every month. The amount is computed on a case-by-case basis to the nearest Rs. 50/- a month

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  1. The person is a Study Home/ Coaching Home teacher.
  2. The distance of the school from residence must not be less than 2 KM.
  3. The one-way normal time of travel by reasonable public transportation must not be less than 20 minutes.

 

Note: Conditions above are all inclusive.

Exception: Disabled/ Handicapped for whom Criteria 2 & 3 are waived

 

RASTA Calculation

 

Example:          Assume Full month = 22 days

                                      One way fare = Rs. 5/-

 

                         Estimated Transportation Cost per month = 22 x 10 = Rs. 220/-

                         RASTA = Rs. 250/- (rounded to nearest 50/-)
