Opening a new school

Proposals will be obtained from motivated individuals (called Organizer) in India, who will arrange for facilities, collect students and engage a teacher (called Headmaster). The Organizer and Headmaster can be the same person. The board will deliberate on the proposal and approve or disapprove the idea based on a feasibility analysis. If approved, the Organizer is given the startup cost. The Organizer will be the sole in-charge person for administration and management of the school.

Operation

The Headmaster will be paid per student Rupees 100/-, which includes his/her salary, facility cost if any (normally the facility should be available free, which could be a room in someone’s house, a school yard or room when not in use or a make-shift public place). A light snack, such as biscuits, banana or any other seasonal fruit should be provided to the students. The cost of such items should be borne by the Headmaster. The foundation may consider giving grants to defray such expenses.

The cost of uniforms for the students if the Headmaster desires to mandate so, the cost of school bags and text books will be reimbursed on a reasonable basis.

Quarterly Report

The Organizer or the Headmaster will provide a quarterly report to India office detailing the number of students, names and ages at the end of the quarter, their progress and suggestions for improvement.

Continuity

The board will decide during anytime of the year whether to discontinue any school for any adverse reason. If no such action is taken, schools will continue operating with new students every year.
